Week 12

Started on the system and began building after getting all the renders done. This is the first time I'm using Adobe Director and it feels somehow like Adobe Flash albeit some difference here and there. Going to have to look more into Lingo scripting to get the skyboxes stitched and getting the navigation right. Been getting help in this area by a lecturer in NSW named Dean Utian through e-mail. I'm am truly grateful for his help as i would be lost in Lingo.

Week 11

Progress in 3D modeling is coming real slow. Been referring to a lot of tutorials online but i guess I'll learn as i go. Experience is the best teacher anyway. Been looking through interior scenes done by talents all over and I'm indeed awed with their work. I should stop looking at their work and get back to mine.

Week 10

Continued with where i left off creating the 3D scene on 3Ds Max. Not that adept in creating buildings as i still feel I'm lacking in 3D modeling. Learnt new stuffs in 3D modeling is fun but it is frustrating when things don't turn out as how you foresee. Rendering is also another frustrating part of 3D modeling. Beginning to regret not getting a Quad core CPU because i didn't foresee a use to utilize all 4 cores... till now.

Week 9

Shared my ideas with Mr Luke and he gave a lot of advices and how to go around with the project. He was helpful with advices and even came up with a backup plan in case the navigation doesn't work. Mr Luke gave us tasks to do while he was here and certainly making more progress than before.

Week 8

Mr Luke is due to be in Sunway next week. I should get the 3D map started. By the way tried using Vray and the results were absolutely fantastic.... coming with a price to pay. A single image in 800x600 rendered in Vray on my PC takes about 6 hours. Don't think it would be wise to render in Vray anymore. Cubes = 6 sides = approx min 2 hours per side. Gonna look into Mental Ray then.

Week 7

Not much of a holiday as it was only for a week. Spent most of the time hanging out in forums asking for opinions and how to get things done. Main concern right now is to create the 3D walkthrough and which render to use. Should i go for Vray? or Should i go for Mental Ray? Vray seems like the better choice...
